turns over but won't start

I was cleaning up the wiring in my 87 4runner and I popped something connecting the battery to the radio. All of my fuses are good, and she turns over but won't start up. The only lights that come on when the key is in the ON position are the oil temp and brake light, the rest of them don't light up now. Any ideas???

Check all of your fuses under the driver side kick panel and under the hood.

Already checked them 50 times just to be sure, none of them are blown. Where to check next is what I don't know

What wiring were you cleaning? Do you have power in both fuse blocks? Check the main power from the battery to the alt. and starter. Also check for good grounds.

The previous owner has run a seperate battery and ACC wire to the radio, leaving the stock ones unused. I wanted my radio to stay on in the ACC position like they usually do. I have power to the radio still, and I tried rewiring it back the way it was before and it won't work either, so I must've screwed something up in the process.

HEY my 87 yota pickup 4x4 is doin the same thing. I was driving the other day and hit a little pot hole in the road and then my entire truck shut off. The only lights that were on while drifting into a parkinglot were my oil and brake lights. All the other lights and radio work as well. It turns like it wants to stat but it just wont. The same day this happened I had just put a bench seat in the truck before this all happened. I must have done something to ground or wire somewhere. I dont know!! But Im stuck w/out a vehicle!! ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!! Thanks Guys!! Steph

Oh yeah I just remembered. A month ago I had a radion finally put in the truck by a friend. Sometimes the radio will turn off when I want it to, other times I have to deface it. Whats up w/ that and could this have somethin to do w/ what just happened to my truck??

If you just changed the seat I'd make sure no wires under the cab were damaged. I've seen several people drill thru wires when mounting fire ext. and such.
