Truck shuts off going down road Help!!

I have a 1993 pickup, today I was driving and my radio would shut-off for about half a second, then later today everything would shutoff, lights engine everything, for about half a second then come back on, pushed down on all my fuses and my battery terminals are tight. What else should I check?

Check the output on your alternator.

Which motor do you have? 22 or the 3.0?

Tight lugs doesn't prevent a bad wire or dirty connections, you can't assume its OK just "because the lug doesn't spin on the terminal" ( PS don't do that it can break off inside the battery).. however I'm thinking a short or loose wire downstream of there. It would have to be one of the primary fuses to effect everything at once like that.

Truck so no wires in the tail gate. But you'll want to inspect the tail light harness it's not unheard of for trailer wiring (that you didn't know you had) to short out.

Late model so no oxygen sensor under the seat to get mangled by something being shoved under the seat. But you'll want to inspect the wires where they traverse the transmission (they could be rubbing, or the tranny mount failing can pinch them to the body)

Search for "the guide" to ground points, all need to be clean and shiney and snug.

PS voltage drop test primary fuses and the fusible link.
