Truck not idling, but good power.

I just purchased a 94 Pickup, it runs great, lots of power when going trough the gears and on the accelerator. It just hesitates when starting and idling other than that, no problem, i have put new spark plugs, and wires and checked the cap. Any help would be great.

Thanks, its a 22RE, i have no tachometer, it only seems to do it in low RPS. when the engine is cold and the idle is up i dont feel it as much, but once its up to temp, it hesitates when idling.

hmmm...

you MAY just need to turn your idle up a bit...

but it could also be a different underlying problem...

check engine light on? have you tried to see if any codes are stored in the computer?

no check engine light on, i put Lucas fuel system cleaner in it and out of the blue it started running 10 times better. I had a buddy look at it, it ran perfect when he was checking it. he noticed the throttle cable was a little loose, so i will adjust it tomorrow. he also suggested fuel filer. i forgot to mention before when it was hesitating, i could smell gas as if it was running rich. but tat smell just almost went away completely today when it started running better. maybe bad gas? deposits? im going to change the fuel filter tomorrow. let me know if you guys think of anything else.

thanks
