truck have starting problem
A while ago I had the 3.0 heads rebuilt, changed all gasket and head gasket. Installed headers and assembled everything. After sitting for a few years the fuel pump went out and had that replaced. But even then I am still not getting any fire. I stripped the fuel rail when trying to fix the leak and thought that the chipped debris might have clogged the injectors but I replace injectors and still no different. It feels like it wants to crank, it turns and cranks and feels like it almost ignites but it doesn't. You hear the exhaust choking and then here or there it sounds like a hiccup of some sort, while in the cab I see the amp gauge go to zero and then goes back to the middle where it was. After trying to start it, if I look under the truck, I see smoke coming out of the passenger side headers tail pipe and none from the driver side, sometimes if I get close enough I will barely be able to see just a little(haven't hook the y pipe to the cat yet). I don't have any video or sound clips to help but I hope the description is enough. Has something like this happen to someone or can someone tell me what might possibly be wrong. Thanks in advance.
(I'll try to snap a few pictures to see if I installed something wrong or something is out of place)

Were the heads rebuilt recently, after it sat for a few years? Or were they rebuilt before it sat? Has it ran since the heads were rebuilt?
Do you have fresh gas in it? If not, what does the gas smell like? If it smells like varnish, replace it all.
Also, what does the compression read? Is the ignition timing spot on?

yeah....varnish smelling gas = bad.
is it EFI or carby-ed?
if its got a carb...
take a look at the carbuerator (if you have one), if you dont have a good mix it might not be letting the engine fire. A rebuild on those things isnt that expensive.
Any major fuel leaks or anything?

I couldn't figure it out even after a few days of fiddling with it.
It turn out to be an ignition timing Yayfortrees, thank you. At first we thought we had it timed right but we didn't. After a few tries it fired right up.
It's fuel injected RB. It did have a leak on the fuel rail but have that fixed. I gas seems to smell fine.
Thank you both for your help. I will post pictures up when I get her up and running. I mean really running
Thanks again.
