Trouble shooting oil leak coming out from slave boot?

Hey guys, I have an issue with my 4Runner leaking. A little info before I go into details: 22RE 5MT (W56), just did my clutch (5-6,000 miles ago), pressure plate, resurface flywheel, replaced rear main seal, flushed tranny and refilled it with Redline MT, replaced both master and slave (All parts are directly from Toyota OEM).

Anyhow, the problem, I came home from a 160 mile trip and noticed that during the last 5 miles before I got home, my motor started knocking. Parked my 4Runner, turned it off, checked the oil level and it was really low! Which explains the knock but I just changed the oil less than 1,000 miles ago so I assumed it wasn't the issue. Checked down below and noticed it was leaking. I refilled the oil and cleaned off the oil where it was leaking from and thank goodness the knock went away.

I drove my 4Runner for 10 mins and parked it to see if there was any signs of leak and there was. It was leaking from the slave cylinder rubber boot. All signs point to my rear main seal but I just replaced that along with the clutch so what could it be? Motor oil is the only sign of leak and smell btw. Thanks and I'll take pics tomorrow to give you all a better understanding.

You would not be the first or last to screw up a seal install .

Bad seal wrong seal ??

Human error ??

I followed the fsm correctly, it wasn't that hard to install. Oiled it up and used a flat block of wood to put it back in place. I'd be damned if it was the rear main.

Troubleshooting 101, first check the last place touched by human hands. Sound like the rear main to me as well. I realize you are grasping for something else for it to be. I do the same thing when I know in the back of my mind its something that is going to be a pain.
