Trouble with brand new 22RE build. HELP!

Defective ECU? 22re running very rich, throws codes #2 and #8.
I have just completed my brand new 22re build and have been in the process of breaking it in and get it tuned right. 1987 2wd pickup, Sr5 extra cab.
Current upgrades/replacement parts and work done:
EngnBldr street rv head, 268 cam
Stock bottom end, only .020 over
Denso plugs
OEM wires
OEM cap & rotor
Denso O2 sensor
OEM coolant temp sensor
Rebuilt injectors from RC Engineering
New TPS
New fuel filter
New fuel pressure regulator (just changed it tonight, no change)
New belts
Brand new timing cover, chain, etc. All OSK brand
OEM headgasket
OEM PCV valve
Few other little things. I didnt touch the ECU, coil, MAF or distributor... I cleaned it out, check air gap, original ignitor as far as i know. Exhaust is stock.
Symptoms:
Running very rich all of the time, cold or hot. All 4 plugs equally black.. smells super rich out exhaust. Scared i will dilute the oil/ wash the rings out.
Timing will NOT advance once i pull jumper wire from diagnostic port. I am getting codes, so i am getting a connection. Currently throwing #2 and #8. (Also #7 and #11 but i had tps disconnected). New TPS has been adjusted.
Will rev if hardly given throttle.. any more and engine will bog. Almost sounds like it wants to backfire.
Will not hold an idle when cold. It'll run for a little, then the idle just plummets and dies.
Please give input if you have any! Thanks.

Unplugged the CSI.. haven't checked for leaks though. I'm sure timing is right, I've tried many times and no difference. Could be off a tooth, I need to check for that too.

what i have described sounds like a tps problem, but my tps was adjusted to spec and still ran crappy. I have interchanged my MAF with another and no difference either.

You can manually set timing if you unplug tps and insert clip into bottom two ports of tps plug it should idle down when u do this if it doesn't idle down its in between wiring of tps plug and computer. This will allow you to set your timing to base setting. Problem still needs to be fixed though if it won't idle down when te and te1 are crossed

Another possible reason could be you have leaky injectors that are spraying too much fuel which will cause the truck to smell/run rich. This will not damage anything immediately, but it will ware out you catalytic converter faster and create more carbon build up.
I would clean out your MAF with some cleaner spray, "do not unscrew the sensor where the connection plugs into otherwise it will break".
