Transfer case clocking

Ive been looking for information on clocking my Xcase and getting it a little better tucked in the frame.

Ive already found info on the Budbuilt cross member, im not looking to just push it up an inch.

Anyone got any info on a clock adapter or info on clocking the case?

I believe Marlin Crawler has an adapter for dual cases that clocks the rear case 10 degrees. I dont know if there is one for a single case or not. inchwormgear.com sells the marlin crawler adapter.

I believe this is what you are looking for: http://frontrangeoffroadfab.com/nfos...94b9f2bc0745cf

but again I believe it's only for dual cases? And you need the dual case adapter to clock the rear case. Don't believe there is an adapter just to clock a single case. But I could be wrong.

RMA doesn't he have a 94 4cyl pickup w/ manual hubs ? Which means he should have a w56 w/ VF1A chain driven case. If so that adapter wouldn't work for him? Unless he swaps to a G58 trans and a RF1A gear driven case?

Disregard if PIckups also came with ADD and nt just the 4runners. As if he does then he would have the correct G58 but a chain driven and not gear driven and would have to pick up a gear driven case.

I might be wrong but using this: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/faq/parts/ as a guide, seems to me the gear driven cases were only found in trucks with manual hubs and not ADD hubs.

A LOT of extra effort for little to no gain IMO.
It really depends on the level of wheelability you are seeking.
Want ground clearance, drivetrain lift and flat belly.

wabbit's right, probably why there isn't much info on clocking a t-case. More is gained by a 2" drivetrain lift and a bud built x-member. yotarob2005 is a perfect example. 3" + extra clearance under his and no clocking.

One thing I am wondering is the t-case mount with a clocked case. I am assuming the OEM/bullet proof mounts are out of the question right and you need a new x-member anyway?

I'd still like to know if I am accurate with my last post.

XXX- what type of transfer case is not determined by the type of hubs the truck has. It is determined by the engine and trans. If you look at the link you posted it is possible that he has either the g58 OR the w56. The w56 comes with a GEAR driven case. I just looked at it again and like you said the g58 comes on trucks with ADD. He most likely has the w56 with a gear driven case though. But the link that RMA posted is just an adapter for a 4 cyl t-case to be bolted to a V6 trans. So either way its not the adapter that the OP is looking for. A custom mount would have to be made with a clocked case. I dont think it would be too hard to integrate the oem/bomb proof mounts. But i have never done it so i dont know.

sportsmanphil- I cannot find any info on clocking a single case. Unless you had a v6 trans and wanted to put on a 4cyl case. However if you want to do a dual case, I would definitely go with the marlin crawler adapter. It allows you to clock it like you want. Like I said above inchwormgear.com sells these adapters.

hmmm.

#300-0010 – 3.0 5 Speed x 21 Spline Gear Driven Tcase
#300-0011 – 3.0 5 Speed x 23 Spline Gear Driven Tcase
#300-00124cyl 4Runner w/ADD - G Series 5 Speed x 21 Spline Gear Driven Tcase
#300-00134cyl 4Runner w/ADD - G Series 5 Speed x 23 Spline Gear Driven Tcase

notice though g-series trans only which only came on ADD trucks. 21 vs 23 spline cases 21 spline is needed unless he grabs a case from a turbo truck in which would have the 23 spline case. all others were 21 spline.

To clarify, I have the 22RE, 5 speed and locking hubs (no ADD)

It appears that clocking the case is not an option without major mods to follow. I want to keep the truck close to stock with very simple but effective mods.

Guess im stuck with a x-case skid with a 1" lift.

3-1/2" to be exact. All bolt on with exception the raising the gas tank which is not required but nice.

Correct me if I am wrong, but a "drivetrain lift" is nothing more than pushing the x case up by way of a tighter fitting cross member.

When I think 'drivetrain lift' I think taller motor mounts, higher x case mount and a lifted fan shroud.

Mine is a 2" body lift, 2" 4crawler motor mount spacers and a Bud Built crossmember made 2" shorter. You do have to raise the motor the same amount as the casr, only way you will have room is to cut out the floor pan or do a BL first.

ok well that makes sense. Thanks for clearing it up. However it still will not work for his setup unless like you said he gets a different case
