TPS and high idle?
I TPS and O2 sensors. Since then my idle is high (around 1200 to 1400). I made a mark on the old sensor and the truck then tried my best to make a mark on the new sensor in the same place. Lined them up and now this. Does the position of the TPS change the idle? If so i guess i would loosen the screws and turn it til the idle is at normal right? Please and thank you for any help. And i did search by the way.

What did the manual say?

(You didn't replace the TPS without testing it first, did you? ....)

the TPS adjustment is extremely sensitive... marking it alone won't really get it back in the exact spot... just even slightly off it will have way different readings... the "idle" position in the TPS is very narrow
you must get a multimeter out and just do it the hard way... adjust it per the manual
the feeler gauge for CHECKING the idle stopper and SETTING it are different... so read it carefully in the manual, otherwise you'll be wasting a lot of time with adjusting that you will never get right

Adjust the TPS the way you are supposed to adjust it and start there. I had the hardest time doing this until I used aligator clips with the ohm meter. I suggest doing that so you get an accurate reading.
If the idle is still high after that adjust the idle screw that is located at the top of the throttle body. It's the screw that can be moved with a flat head. Good luck!

I cheated and didn't use alligator clips directly on the TPS... I took apart a scrap connector I had laying around in my big pile of used car wiring (99% of which are not from my cars), then stuffed the bare terminals into the TPS pins... with the stripped end of the wires, I connected the alligator clips from my multimeter (oh it's nice to have one of the more expensive meters as they have attachment accessories, such as alligator clips ) then took all the sweet time I wanted on the TPS
no really, it wasn't that much fun
it'll be a lot easier to just go to the junk yard and hack off a piece of the TPS connector wiring pigtail and just work with that... but the junk yard is 25 miles away and it's not worth my time to just get a stupid piece of wire... I'll remember to get one next time I'm there... 5 finger discount w00t!

i didnt realize how sensitive the adjustment was. I will try to do this. I work 7 days a week so its a day off im waiting on. About the unmetered air, i didnt take off the intake. My intake is cracked right at the throttle body for about a half inch, which is sealed with about 5 layers of some good old duct tape for the moment. When i cracked it the truck had a very erratic idle, not just high. but the ISR is long over due. thanks for the replies, ill post what the outcome is.
