Picked up an 85 celica gts with the 22re in it on Monday and someone did a number on the efi harness. It looks like they spliced on (not very well either, wires twisted together) the wrong TPS. It has 3 connectors in it. Through rock auto I ordered a new TPS for an 85 celica and it arrived being a 4 prong connector similar to the one in my 93 truck. So I found a wiring harness on ebay from an 84 celica and that arrived but it also has the 3 prong connector on it. I had read somewhere that the 85 celica had the same setup in it as the 87 trucks but I'm not sure on that. It looks like the harness in my car should have a 4 prong connector as there's a brown wire just cut and hanging in what looks like the TPS loom. I'm just confused as anything right now trying to figure out what harness and tps this thing is really supposed to have. Did the 85-86 era trucks have a 3 or 4 prong TPS in them? It's throwing codes related to the tps and running like the TPS isn't hooked up.
I have a harness from an 86 truck coming that I also picked up cheap on ebay so hopefully between all of this mess I can figure out what's what.
