total chaos IFS truss

I just got my TC truss in today & it seems they make their truss 16 & 7/8" long (16.75" as I read 16 7/8's as I measured)

My problem is my 4Runner already has some spreading & measures 17 & 1/16" where the truss is supposed to weld in. I didn't measure this first (DOH) & now I'm wondering whether I should:

A - Get a Sonoran steel custom fabbed unit that bolts in & sell this TC unit

or

B - go to a body shop & ask them what I could do

or

C - Ask the welder to pop an extra piece of 1/4" plate in there as a spacer

or

D - Ask you geniuses what YOU would do

If the arms were too close together that'd be easy but being too far apart is a horse of a different color & I can't seem to get a picture in my mind of what I should do; any suggestions?

I'd be more than happy to sell it to you & order one from Sonoran Steel. My truck is aligned correctly right now so I'd hate to try to tweak it back enough for the TC truss to fit & screw the pooch.

I ordered it from off road warehouse & they raped me on the shipping @ $32 for regular UPS ground - I paid $37 for the TC unit on top of that so you can see I'm into it for $70 already.

I'll sell this TC unit for $35 & actual shipping charges if anyone is interested. It hasn't been tacked in or anything, I just opened the box & said "I better measure this for fit" lol....whoops.

Heck I'll even send the Total Chaos stickers (3) & the Total Chaos catalog along with it that they sent me. (the item was drop shipped by offroad warehouse & came straight from TC)

I'm sure I could, depending on how a person wanted it shipped & with a few hours notice during the shippers business hours. If you're really interested (anyone for that matter) shoot me a P.M. with some contact info & we'll work it out.

I suppose no one else has anything constructive to add? If not, I'll post up a for sale ad in the classifieds.

Heavy duty Ratchet strap between the frame rails, Bring the Frame back to its original location. than weld or bolt in the truss.

I thought of that but the stresses pulling away from the weld would be harder to overcome than pulling into a piece of steel (out vs. in) I wouldn't want to come up with stress fractures where the steel was heated by the welder over the next year or two if the metal didn't bend inward & kept some outward spring.

My truck drives straight right now so I know it's not too far out to be aligned; I think I'll just go with a Sonoran steel truss (if they build anymore).
