Torque Specs for bearings
Hey, I need the proper torque specs for my bearings. The Haynes manual has a couple different specs, but doesn't make it clear which one I need.
My truck is a '92 Pickup 4WD.
I know I should do a Search, but I don't have the time right now top spend an hour looking, I have the truck apart and need to get it back together.
I know I need to torque the bearings down to 40lbs or so, spin the wheel a few times and then back it off, but just need to know the final torque to set it to, or the proper procedure.
Thanks.

i think the torque is set from drag, i think the initial setting is 40 then your supposed to have a puller guage and pull on one of the studs and thats supposed to be set to a spicific number....i just tightened mine down to 40 and spun it and backed it off till it spun nice and free,

Try ncttora.com and look for a FSM. Torque specs and procedure depend on if the bearings are new or old. Your title is a bit vague too as there are lots of bearings.
The procedure is too much to type out and Hayne's manuals are junk. Buy or print out a FSM and it will save you a lot of headaches in the future.
