Top Tranny Bolts
There are two of them on the back of the engine on the top. How the heck do you get these suckers out? I even bought a ratcheting wrench and it still didn't help.
I'm thinking about taking off the engine mounts and moving it forward and then taking them off...suggestions?

If you go the extension route... add "one friend to help put the socket back on the bolt when it pops off".
And I don't know about the cost thing- that ratchet cost me about 15 bucks at a home depot a while back. By the time you buy a few extensions and either a u-joint or wobble socket it's about the same. Plus I find myself using that ratchet for other things like when something's in the way and can't get a straight pull on a regular ratchet.

call me special but i did it twice with a gear wrench. i had the tire off, and facing to the front of the truck i slid sideways between the wheel hub and fenderwell and stuck my arm out to reach lol..... worked pretty good

A transmission shop would drop the trans crossmember enough to allow a 24" extension and a 17mm swivel socket, and hit it with an impact wrench.
You can do the same with an 18-24" extension and a big ratchet, plus a universal adapter and socket.
