timing chain too short
Hi everyone, Having problem getting timing chain and spocket to reach cam? replaced head gasket, after getting head back on, seems chain and sprocket dropped down a little bit...looked down and can see oil pump plunger extended out pushjig on chain... shorting it just enough so i cant reach cam.....any help here? I did twist tie the chain to spocket as said. thank you,

HEY.
when i did mine i pulled slowly on the passengers side of the chain steadily and the tensioner slowly went in......enough that i was able to get part of the sprocket on....i pulled the chain a little more and got more bite.....then i took a block of wood and held it over the sprocket and tapped it into place.

If you lift firmly with a little more pressure on the left side it should depress the timing chain tensioner just enough to clear. If this doesnt work, you might need a hand. Have someone touch the top of that tensioner with a long screwdriver or something while you provide lift. dont pry
