timing belt crank pulley issues

so i am in the process of fixing the timing belt idler pulley that blew up when i noticed that the crank pulley was very loose.. so i pulled it off to find this:

can anyone think of a creative way of fixing the key on the crank without pulling the whole motor and doing a full rebuild and new crank?? i am not sure what to do now.

you can't get another woodruff key? Just replace it along with the timing gear and you're good as new or am i missing something?

nope.. you're not missing a thing.. no sooner as i post this i start looking online and realize it is replaceable... the way it was sheered off it looked like it was part of the crank..

i'll pick up a new one tomorrow and be good to go for another 278K!

you could just take that timing gear, and flip it around can't ya?

it's the same thing on either end?

however now that it has that "chip" taken out of it, it's out of balance?

Not the same on both ends. It has a lip on the other end.
