Ticking noise consistent with rpm's
Ok so I just bought a 93' 4runner 4x4 5 speed with the 3.0with 260,000 on it. Pretty solid truck but this ticking noise has got me. It gets faster when the rpm's go up and is pretty consistent. It's a lighter clicking/ticking noise that is coming from the top side of the motor/throttle body area.
I'm no hardcore mechanic but I know a bit about cars. I heard it could be lifters making noise so I put some of that Lucas engine treatment in since it's really thick. Still ticks. Power is still there when I put my foot down and the oil pressure is normal, maby just a tiny low but not much.
Any ideas?
Anyone ever had this problem before?
Any help would be awesome, I'm a newb on the forum. Thanks guys!

I just answered this question in depth last week. Search for it.
The short story is: don't worry about it. It is probably either the fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, or an exhaust leak. Replacing the seal that goes around the steering shaft will keep the noise out of your cab and then you won't even have to think about it.

Sweet thanks a lot! I'll look it up.

Lol at sturmcrows sealed cabin advice ..
My engine makes a soft ticking noise as well. Reading around the forums I came to accept that these are noisy engines. On top of that I know I have a cracked exhaust manifold. Booo...
Sturmcrow Im gonna search for that post of yohrs, it better explain what the noise acgually is!!!
