Thx to Yototech
Hey, I just wanted to say THANKS for all of the good info I get from this board. Case in point -- today I changed the plugs on my 3vz. First time for me to do plugs in an aluminum head engine. Sure enough, two of them wouldn't come out readily - they'd turn about 1/2 turn and then seize up. Remembering what I'd read on this forum, I just patiently worked them back and forth while spraying penetrating oil into the socket, as close to the threads as I could get.
Just as advertised, both plugs steadily increased their range of rotation and after about 5-10 minutes eventually came out cleanly with no damage to the threads in the head. I could hand thread the new plugs all the way in.
Were it not for the collective knowledge of this board, I may well have forced the plugs and damaged or destroyed the threads. Thanks for saving me a huge hassle!
It's truly amazing to have this board as a resource for maintaining these old trucks!

For sure!
Without this forum I would not have had the courage, or resources, to rebuild my 4Runner. Instead I would be driving around in a POS dieing on me all the time.
Also, if you think there are other forums.. sure there are, namely one more that is decent.. but just not as helpful. Iv seen parts stores advertise that they get good revuews from yotatech.

Nice post, I've been on vehicle forums back when they started on bbs and this is the most helpful and supportive forum I've been on so gj Corey and all the admin team. It makes me sad to think I'm moving on to another vehicle soon, since I've moved here from fort st john, my intended us of the truck has changed. Back home I had a 5 minute drive to work, 10 minutes from town were numerous trails, camping kayaking etc. Here, I drive 45 minutes to work, bouncing around on pavement in my truck which I've built for a much different use. I'll update my truck thread when I find what I'm looking for and sell my truck
