Yo, so I have a 1990 3.0 4runner and for some damn reason only the back left will light up when I brake. The bulbs should be fine cause when I turn the lights on they both light up. I've been reading up and I guess ether the stop light sensor or a ground could be the cause. I'm picking up a new sensor tomorrow but after examining sensor I can't figure out how to get up in there and change it out. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on this process. I'm trying hard to get this beast street legal but damn haha.

A failed stop lamp switch normally presents no stop lamp bulb illumination.
Stop Lamp Bulbs and Tail Lamp Bulbs are one in the same sharing a dual filament bulb.
Verify all bulbs are in working condition.
Verify bulb sockets are in good condition and free of corrosion.
Verify wiring and connections are in good shape free of damage and corrosion.
Its possible however uncommon the Toyota truck tail lamp electrical wiring can rub against the body of the truck right behind the lamp, thus rubbing an open spot in wiring contacting the body.(Ground/Short to Ground) Thus is usually coupled with blowing fuses.
Keep it simple first haha. Sorry for ranting.

You're good man ha well after thinking about it I decided to check the physical bulb for the hell of it and it turns out that the bulb has two filaments with one burnt out. Duh. So long story short my lights are all good now. Now to tackle the rear window issues ha
