Swapped blocks and now my 22RE isnt getting Fuel.

I replaced my old tired 22RE with the block and valve train for a rebuilt motor and now I cant get it running. It cranks but wont fire.

Ive had pretty much everything in the truck apart while the motor was out including the dash, gas tank ect.. so i don't even know where to start. But i can tell you that the fuel pump is not coming on when i crank it. I am getting spark, but no fuel.

The vehicle is a 91 4runner

Probably a long shot but when I put in a new engine years ago it would crank all day and not start. Turned out to be a bad AFM.

What bugs me is the motor was running before I took it all apart. How do i find out if its the AFM without spending the cash on buying a new one?

do you have everything hooked back up? intake? all connectors? there is a diagnostic connector under the hood passenger side. Pop the cover open and using a paper clip or piece of wire jumper the fp and b+. This should "hot wire" the fuel pump to run while key is on. See if it starts that way.

I'm not sure. I usually have a few extra of everything so I just swap things out till it works.

I just swapped out my engine with a new long block over the weekend. I to was not getting fuel. The fuel pump just was not coming on. We kept checking everything thinking we had something unplugged or a ground not attached somewhere. Finnally we took the bed off the truck and removed the fuel pump. One of the wires connectors was burnt up where it entered the pump connector. We were able to fix it and the pump started working and the truck fired right up. We have no idea why this haapened as it should not be related to what we did. I just figured I would share my experience as we had the same problem.
