Hello everyone I have a 1993 pickup 5spd 4wd 117000 miles, I have a rust free bed for it at home and I want to buy a suspension lift kit. What kits do you recommend. Cheapest one I can find is rough country 4-5in. I'd like just a 3in but can't seem to find one. If anyone has any links or websites with some other ones it would be greatly appreciated

You can always do some ball joint spacers, torsion bar twist and then set the back end up anyway you want it. I wouldn't use any bigger ball joint spacers than 2.5". They really stretch the CV axles and I pretty much had to max out my cam bolts in order to get mine aligned. Not sure how people do it with anything bigger. You can pick it up 3" for a couple hundred easily. What is your plan for the truck? Hard off-roading or a little mud now and then? What size tires are you wanting to run?

I have 2" BJS on the front without the t-bars cranked and I run 32-11.50s with no issues. I feel like I could run 33s fine and am sure that I could after adjusting the bars. I don't like to twist them to the max due to ride quality. Keep this in mind though. The farther you push down the lower a-arm, which is what you will be doing when you lift it, the closer the inner wall of the tire or wheel is going to be to the upper ball joint. You may have to add 1/4" or so of spacer behind your wheel or change wheels with that wide of a tire. A 12.50 tire on a 7" wheel isn't a good idea anyway..

For the rear, you have several options. The Chevy 63 springs are a nice upgrade. You can also use blocks and or oversize shackles. On mine, I'm using an add a leaf and some 6" shackles. I really like the shackles because they were build very well and have some good Teflon bushings in them. Shackles will lift you 1/2 of the additional length of the bigger shackle. So if you replaced 4" with 6" that's about an inch of lift. The add a leafs never give you the lift that they advertise. So don't assume that you can buy all your stuff and your truck set level after installing. That being said, don't cut the additional length of your new U-bolts until you are completely satisfied or do whatever you are going to do to the front first in case you end up nose high and need to slide a 1" block in the back to level it out.
