Finally had the time to complete this small job. Consists of the 1982 plug and play AFM, Caprice LT1 air cleaner top, spare 22RE top- grafted them together...not pretty used a ton of fiberglass to beef the casing up. Just have to figure out the intake ducting, thinking of 3in ss. Too slippery to get on the juice- but at least it runs good.

you could, though, play with the spring inside the afm to richen/lean the fuel...

You can only do this on a 22R-E and yes, its easy to do 'cause it's plug n play. You'll have a time finding one, but online junkyard search engines can help to locate. Even on here you can come across one.

There a BUNCH of threads on this mod on here...just gotta search...

Mine was plug and play but not sure if that's because of the L.C.E. Prostreet head making it breath better or not

They are a little hard to find although you can get one from the dealer for 600$. I think I sold Olharleyman his. I do hit the u-pull-and-pay place often and when I find them I grab them. I'll run one on my rig for a few hundred miles to make sure it's in good working order and then post it up for sale here. I think I sold the last one for 35$ + shipping.

I'll go look again this week and see what I can come up with.

It does help with performance a little because its larger than stock and the engine can pull more air through it, but it also helps if you have a header and other performance mods to get the most from it.

Sorry about the mix up. I couldn't remember if it was 35$ or 50ish$. I thought 50$ sounded like too much. I'll sell you your next one at a discount.

What it did for me was eliminate my hill climb issues while on the highway. With the addition of my LCE header it really shines.

The Supra mod coupled with a good header and a larger throttle body (85 supra) is a darn good combination. I have yet to do the throttle body mod since I need to actually find one and have an intake plenum milled to match the 60mm TB but I plan on this next.

I did see a small gain in mpg but what really blew me away was the response of the engine when I hit the skinny pedal.

I would like to buy one any of you fela's have an extra (junkers88?) just wandering too if it a 2.5L 5mge that they come off of, and it would bolt right up to the LCE fprk kit?

The only year Supra that has this part and that is a direct plug and play for our trucks is 1982. I have seen where others have gotten different year AFM's and done some work on the internals (swapping the circuit board) but I prefer just to plug it in and go.

If I find another one or two they will be posted up for sale here.

I got my AFM from a mid 80`s cresida, i can`t remember what year it was, but it had a 5MGE engine in it and it was plug and play.
