Stupid not to ask

was always taught that there is never a stupid question only the one that is not asked.So here goes Is it possible for the timing chain to rub a hole into the water pump housing.I know about the upper part when the guides break and it will make a hole What about the bottom.THIS IS THE 22RE MOTOR i have

It can wear through the timing cover in a spot that is a water jacket. So it can milkshake your motor if its bad enough.

Ok.Im gonna look mine over real good when I get off.What about the oil pump rubber gasket.If thats bad would that allow antifreeze and oil to mix or would it just be a leak.
