Stock rear shackle length
Just bought a 1993 pickup sr5 ext. Cab. The previous owner did something to the rear suspension. I know he installed Skyjacker 4" leaf springs but the shackles look aftermarket too. It measures 5.75" center hole to center hole. The truck has a very harsh bouncy ride and I think its because they retained stock length shocks in the rear and they are too short to dampen the aftermarket springs. I purchased Bilstein shocks that are for a 4" lift but if it also has lift shackles then the shocks will still be too short negating the new shock purchase. Does anyone know the proper measurement for a stock shackle? Thanks.
If this isnt the proper board I apologize, poppin' my cherry.

It's hard to tell for sure from the picture but your shackle appears to be straight up and down with no angle to it. If the mount on the frame could be moved 2 or possibly 3 inches forward then that would allow the shackle to have a good angle and a much softer ride. I know this from my own 01 Tacoma with shackles that were 7" between centers....shackle had a Zero angle and rode rough....then moved the frame mount 3.25" forward and a nice ride resulted.
