Stiff gas pedal?

Does everyone's 3.0 have a stiff gas pedal. I've read about a kick down cable adjustment? BTW...its an auto. I've greased the cable to make sure its not kinked and....nothing

Both of my 3.0's had stiff gas pedals. My '84 22r had a soft pedal.

I messed my right knee up last summer wake boarding and my gas pedal is not helping. I took out one of the springs on the throttle body and that seemed to help some. Are the 3rd gens. the same?

Yeah dood.
When I got mine I seriously thought there was something wrong with the peddal, so I checked all my lines all the way to the throttle and it was all square so I threw some WD40 on there and it still didn't change. It almost feels like it has certain travel distances, as if it gets stiffer at different points.
But I guess it's just the way they're made.

I just put WD40 on my 22r's mechanism thingy. Pretty sure I got like 20hp out of it.

But seriously it helped ALOT.

Mines pretty stiff, my girlfriends 22re is soft as hell. Everytime you hit a bump you hit the gas...

i put a huge spring on the throttle body on my 22re to stiffen it up for rock crawling. it helps alot for the bumps, and u can controll the throttle better on obstacles.

My pedal actually has about an inch of play before it gets stiff. Any tips how to get rid of that play?
