sticky throttle
i just installed my weber 32/36. im just having a problem with the throttle mechanism. it doesent sit on the idler screw and is very sticky and i cant adjust the idle.
any ideas on how to loosen it up? i already tried a silicone spray.
also do you think i need a tighter spring?
im on the home stretch so all help is GREATLY appreciated

Jay, I think its a brand new carb.
WD40 may actually work for this, it does a decent job on lubing parts without gumming them up. After spraying on, I'd work the throttle back and forth for a couple minutes or until it moves freely.

I have no idea what the spring looks like on a Weber carb, why don't you take a picture of the spring. If its like the only on the 22RE, its probably proprietary.
Does the butterfly close when the throttle cable is not attached? If so, go buy some "chains lube" (for motor cycles), disconnect the cable at the carb, and try to spray the cable lube down the sheath.

Sorry, my mistake. I totally mis-read that.
Spray some lube in the pivot points and chain lube in the cable.
Try working it back and forth by hand, perhaps its just sticky because its new?

well heres the best way i can describe it. looking from the front of the truck the bracket is pointing at 11 o clock. if you move it between there and about 1 o clock it will not return. if you move it past 1 o clock it will return to 1 o clock.
i will give it a good lubing tomorrow.
thanks for the advice i will keep you posted

alright got it fixed sprayed the whole assembly down with silicone spray. also loosening the bolts holding the throttle arm down seemed to help and i gave the throttle cable a little more slack.
so on to the new problem.
my truck runs like a ford:bar f:
the mixture screw does nothing no matter how far in or out you take it. i think i have several vaccume leaks and i have no idea what needs to be plugged or left alone.
so any help would be appreciated once again
and thanks for the previous advice
