steering problem
So I upgraded my steering stabalizer on my 88 4runner and had some trouble getting the old one off and had to pry a little on the relay bar to get it off(not real hard it did twist some though) so got it off and put the new rancho one on and now my steering is a little loose. The relay bar does not seem to be bent or anything. Did I losen something up by doing this and can I retighten it or am I going to need to replace some parts. I am very mechanically inclined when it comes to my 4runner, but the steering and suspension are a mystery to me? Any help would be great.

If you pried on the any of the linkage it's possible you bent it. Even slightly bending it will alter the distance between where the tie rods attach to the bar and tweak the toe to a positive amount. Positive toe will have a numb, maybe slight wandering feeling to the steering wheel but with just a slightly larger amount of steering wheel turning becomes quick to respond.

And to look for play in the linkage, have someone sit in the cab and turn the wheel back and forth just to the point the wheels start to turn. Then poke your head underneath and starting from the steering shaft, move down the linkage looking for the point at which one part of the linkage moves and the next part it is connected to does not. That connection between those two parts is where the play is coming from.
