Steering column wire

Does anyone know what the blue plug that plugs into the plastic steering column is for...93 4Runner v6.

If it is the big blue plug that connects to the main wiring harness, it is for the lights, blinkers, horn,... It will have two plugs that connects from the main harness.

Key inter lock. Two wires, Blue-red & white-black .

Works with the shift lock. It's the safety system that keeps it in park with the key cylinder locked, and the key locked in the cylinder without the transmission in park..

I didn't know but apparently the computer that controls this has a timer circuit and times out after an hour under the right circumstances.
