steering box problems

I replaced my steering box and the steering was tight and wouldn't return. I thought maybe it was air so I drove it. Then it started leaking worse than the one I replaced. Did I air lock it?

Are you talking the actual steering gear or the ps pump?

Running your engine is going to continue to pump air into the power steering system. You'll need to bleed it to get the air out. I know a lot of guys that swear that running it will eventually get the air bled out, but I've never had good results with it.
