start of my 1st gen 4unner build

Today I stayed out of school and worked on my truck for a while. I fabbed up a skid plate and a new rear bumper and I've had it for a while but have not had time to do anything with it. Today I put some primer on the skid plate and worked on fabbing up some braces to hold up my new bumper. Also I'm gonna put a reciver on the bumper so i can tow my dirtbike and other crap. Pics:

tomorrow I am not going to school again so I will finish painting the skidplate and hopefully will get it on. Soon to come this summer (once i get more money), sliders, Marlin front bumper, a selectable locker in the rear, and hopefully a winch.

half doors are far cooler than tube doors and can be had for the cost of cutting them. Do half doors, and don't look back.

Skipping school to work on your 4runner would normally be considered a bad idea. However i notice you have some pretty good fab skills and it is a 1st gen. so I think we can overlook it this time....

you can find donor doors for cheap. I bought a pair off craigslist for $50.
I have tube doors for my '81. they are great but don't let your cell phone or anything slide around on floor or you will loose with the tube doors...i know from experience.

Either way you go you might want to consider a set of these Quick Release Hinges from 4xInnovations.com
