squeeaak...CLUNK! when turning
Sometimes, when making a sharp u-turn in the neighborhood, something in the front end squeaks and clunks really loud. It's almost like someone just took a hammer and hit my front differential. It's a loud pop.
I did some searching and found info about something like this happening during a dry stop steering, but this happens only when I'm moving. The plastic caps that usually wear off on the steering stops are still there, and I even greased them. So the metal grinding and popping isn't coming from there. What else could it be

my caps are still there as well, and the front end of my truck still pops like all hell making sharps turns... I just live with it; it's a Toyota thing; the crew around here knows that, and everyone around here with Toyota's has accepted the fact that their IFS rig makes a little noise on the sharp turns, lol
But what else could it be? ball joints, control arm bushings, tie-rods, idler-arm, pitman arm, steering gearbox... it's quite the list...

I greased the steering stop and it didn't help. Not that I noticed, anyway. Oddly enough, I took it to the car wash and powerwashed a whole bunch of grease and oil off of the front differential and that did help. Blasting away the chunks of grease seemed to lessen the occurrence.
