Spits and Sputters

In the last week my pickup has decided to sputter when under load. It idles like it did before and runs fine until a hill or on the highway. Today I replaced the fuel filter, replaced the distributor cap and rotor and replaced the coil wire(have the rest of them still left to replace but i only had a few hours to work on it). Plugs were replaced last winter. Also have yet to re-check the timing. I ran a bottle of Lucas oil tune up(top end lubricant/fuel injector cleaner) in it to see if that made any difference....nope. I plan on pulling the plugs and checking the timing the next time i work on it but does anyone have any suggestions?? I've been searching on here and looking at my service manual and haven't really found any definite answers. Could it simply be just water in the gas? When it does sputter, it feels exactly like it does right before it runs out of gas so i believe its a fuel issue not an ignition issue. CEL has been on since i bought the truck(think O2 sensors) so i cant really use the codes to determine the new issue. Any help would be great!!

check fuel pressure while driving around see if your fuel pressure cuts out under load. Don't just check it sitting in the driveway.

im going to hook an external pump and tank up and stick it in the bed and see if that works. if i have low pressure could it just be the pump or fuel pressure regulator?

Ok, doing a follow up on my fix here... So I replaced the fuel filter! Now it back to normal!!! Thanks Ryan G!
I asked the guy how bad was the fuel filter? He said he could blow through it!
