Special Service Campaign for 90-95 4Runners, 89-95 Trucks and 93-98 T100s
#621
I'm in the middle of fighting with my local dealership for a reimbursement on my headgasket and engine work after they denied my recall and I later tried out the recall link above only to find out I am eligible. They're trying to say "Without a printed letter for verification you have no service due..." which is complete nonsense.
If someone could post a copy of the letter in print form (just scan it in for me) so I can just shut them up I'd really appreciate it and will provide the bbq or drinks.
(Yes I tried to search for it since I remember seeing it posted a couple of years ago, but this site has so many images I just gave up.)

I don't have the recall notice but you should be able to see the recall and print something out if you put your VIN in the Toyota recall lookup site: https://auth2.toyota.com/owners/SSCInfo-index.html

Steering recall
1994 Toy PU - 2wd, nothing extra (207K w/original clutch!) - It's NOT included in the recall; I assumed such, but called anyway. What a treat to speak to somebody I could understand, who wasn't from India. Definately A1, 1st. Class assistance.

Took my 1995 Pickup in today for 50N. They called and said its done but you need to pay for an alignment. I argued saying I have the letter that Toyota sent to the dealers it states "check the alignment and adjust if necessary". They argued that it was only to check the toe in and the alignment is not covered. I spoke with the shop foreman and he gave me the same response. I called Toyota Canada(because I'm in Canada) and they said they cant do anything because its a US truck. So I called Toyota USA and explained my situation, after 20 min on hold they said "have them align it and we'll reimburse you". BAM. So all is good. My advice to anyone getting this done is don't give up.

I just took my 94 pickup in and had this done, if anyone is still wondering whether or not they are still doing it. Pretty painless, but I wasn't worried about the alignment issues since I just had it done recently anyway.

Not to bring Up old posts but I just entered my vin on Toyotas site and it said no recall. Does this mean that it has already been done or do I need to call them? Once again sorry for bringing up old threads.
Side note slightly off topic but my rear driveshaft support barring is going out and a local driveline shop said they could get it all replaced and up to par for less than or equal to the cost of the barring in the parts store. To good to be true? It's drivelines NW pretty big name company. Any experience with them.
