spare tire carrier 2wd / 4wd adaptor?

Any good ideas on an adaptor for using a stock 2wd spare tire carrier hoist for a 4wd pickup ? It needs a longer bottom piece to fit the larger diameter center hole on the 4wd wheel (wheel-center locater?) Something clever with scrap iron or an old brake disk?

While I had the bed off, I replaced my rusted hoist with a nice clean one I found. Now after the bed is back on, I discover it is a 2wd. So I cant get at the bolts to swap it out without pulling the bed again.

Back form the dead-post area.....

What did you do to resolve this?
My 94 was missing trhe OEM hoist so I pikced up the only one I could find locally and it's a three hole.
The missing one on my 94 standard cab 4x4 appears to have been a four hole model.

thanks

Can you drill it out and make it work?

Possibly, but the thing is so rusted it's sad.
I have it soaking motor oil, trans fluid and kerosene for now.
I've been trying to locate a 4 bolt chain hoist on eBay, but the prices are nuts.
Would a cable operated one secure a 31x10.5 ?
Seems to me that Toyota swapped chain and cable around back and forth.

Thanks

You can see if you can make an adapter plate as well. Drill you existing out so it fits the 4 bolt pattern. Then get a thicker piece of metal to help reinforce the piece you drilled out (if necessary) when attaching it to the frame. Or got to a pick and pull yard and hope you get lucky.

Also find CL adds where people are parting out rigs. Ask them if the have a tire carrier. Its probably not a high demand item for the average part out.
