sliding glass window 95 pickup

Hey I recently broke the drivers side of my sliding glass window in my 95 toyota pickup. I called the dealership and they sent me a replacement but I cant get it in. I shove it up into the weatherstriping then try to push the bottom into the lower track but I'm about 1/4" shy of being able to get it into that lower track and am scared to push too hard for fear of breaking it again.

Has anybody ever replaced this piece of glass before?

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

I've never done it myself but I think you need to position the movable pane in the centre of the frame... in other words push the left pane all the way to the side and try to install the right one from dead centre this will give you the maximum clearance in the upper track to get the bottom in... On the other hand if you're worried I'd just take it back to the dealer and pay the $50-60 and say "here, you do it"... if they break it they have to buy another one lol...

I did this myself a month or so ago.

Your Deff gonna need 2 sets of hands..

What you need to do is get some small nylon rope (home depot) and put it all around the lip of the seal that goes just inside the cab with some WD40 or soap

position the lower part of the window in as much as possible while having someone push really hard while you pull the nylon rope In and to one side, This is what pulls the gasket through, go slow.

Its hard to explain but I hope that gets the message through..Good luck

Isn't that replacing the whole unit? I think he means just one of the sliding pieces...

Yeah that's the method to replace the whole thing not just one panel...
