Side View Mirror Retrofits Base-DLX or SR5
Hi All,
Been lurking here for years, finally getting around to cleaning up my 90 Base Pickup. Its going to the paint shop today for a complete respray, something thats been needed for years.
Anyway in the process of doing this job I've figured that it might be nice to clean up the exterior a bit. I've never liked the side view mirrors on the door, always prefering the mounting right in front of the window.
The plastic cover in the interior when removed shows three holes, which I suspect are for mounting these

I'm not so sure I'm going to use the chrome ones, but as an example these have the three posts. Although the look a little bigger than the holes present in the door.
Has anyone done this retrofit? I searched throught he forums but found little.

If you're able to/going to put them in the corners, you might want to consider putting the 90-95 4runner mirrors in. They are larger and in my opinion look more like a "truck" mirror than the stock ones that look more like car mirrors. Also, the 4runner mirrors can hold memory of the way you adjust them and can be "flipped" inward when going off-road so they don't get knocked off, and then pushed back out to their original position without losing your adjustments. My 92' stock mirrors couldn't do that.
