Short shifter

I was browsing LC's website today and noticed they sell short shifters. The problem is they don't list one for a 4wd, only a 2wd. Does anyone know if this shifter will work on a 4wd truck? It doesn't list what tranny it fits and the plate looks like the one on my W56c.

Not to be rude but why would you want a short throw in a 4x4? Might just be me but I don't need to shift like I'm racing. I don't even think it'd be worth it. I have short throw in my wrx and its really only worth it if your reving everygear out....

Ive only seen people use them after getting a body lift to bring the longer shifter back to a stock feel.

My guess is that if your trans is in front of a top-shift case (trans and tcase shifters have different mount plates) it would probably work.

it's on a foward shift case, it has seperate plates for both shifters. I do shift my truck alot, it has a 22re and dual cases you shift alot on the trail. I daily drive this truck and I think the shifter would be better on the street. Have you ever driven an old 4 speed Chev? I with you could get a short shift for those. It's not about shifting like your racing it's just more fun.

I run a short shifter on my '85 and really like it:

In fact I have short throws on all the t-case shifters as well:

And it does make a difference after a long day on the trail and is really handy if you get locked back int he seats by the seat belt on a steep hill and can't reach out far enough for a certain gear selection.

I got one a while ago after I put on 2" BL from Marlin Crawler. Awesome. Better than stock. I don't have to move to another state to shift it to 5th.
