Sealant for gasket on timing guides

1st post after a long time lurking, I am in the process of rebuilding a 22r with a engbuilder kit and I had a question on the gaskets for the timing chain guides. What kind of sealant would you guys suggest and should I be applying sealant to both sides of the gasket? Also, what kind of sealant for the water pump and should this be applied to both sides of the gasket as well. Relatively no experience in rebuilding but am gathering info through the build, I have tried searching but specifically havent found the answer. Thanks in advance.

I would put toyota FIPG on the block and on the front side of the gasket itself. No need to get crazy with it. just a nice thin bead. Others use the grey and black with good results.

For the water pump, I use a coolant specific RTV found at most auto parts places. It holds up better then the stuff made for multi purpose.
