scrap metal anyone?

We'll see how she still drives on the road tomorrow, and maybe I'll take the back road home tomorrow and see if it helped the flex out at all

I had the one on Sin91's 2wd disconnected for a while after the lift went on. The torsion bars were stiff enough to keep most of the body roll around town under control but I started noticing the tires wearing the outside edges (she doesn't like slowing down for corners much) so I put it back on. Besides, it doesn't hit the dirt often enough to need gobs of flex.

Let us know how it rides.

*edit- meant 'torsion bars' not 'sway bars'

how's she ride without it?

I've read mixed results, but most say they harldy noticed a difference on the road, but off road the difference was noticable

the main reason I took mine off is because one of the freak'n nuts backed off and it started rattling, so I just unbolted the rest of it, lol

Well its hard to say. My 4runner has a 4" lift on it already + lc coils in the rear. So naturally it had body roll anyways, and having my shocks on soft made it worse. If i stiffen the shocks its much better to drive on road, but i broke a tab off the rear rancho so i cannot.

Now taking the rear one off the 4runner was BAD. Wasn't fun to drive at all.

I would say its up to you, if you are comfortable with it off then leave it, but if not put it back on.

my $.02

When I put my used 4" ifs lift on and I took my sway bar off two bolts broke off in the frame. So I've been driving around with it off until I get time to drill them out. It's not too bad, but you definitely can't carry as much speed through a corner. But those that don't drive and take corners like one would in a sports car probably wouldn't notice it so much.

haha, I know she doesn't handle like my old Stang, so I'm easy on the corners.

we'll find out tomorrow!

You probably wont notice a difference.

I took it off my '90 pickup running 33x9.5" tires.. I couldn't tell a difference on or off the road.. it just made less racket.

The same goes for my '87 pickup (daily driver.) It gets run on 31x10.5" tires, 33x10.5" tires, and 35x12.5" tires, and I cant tell a difference with it being on or off.

Just leave it off. Increase your gas mileage by losing the 10 pounds that POS weighs.

If the nuts are backing off, why not just put some lock tite on the threads?
I did that a few weeks ago. I also have the thicker addco bars, so the nuts and bolts take a beating.

The front bar would make a big difference while towing I'd think.

I took mine off, and ended up looseing it at my old house. I wish I had it because I've got enough body roll it makes me uncomfortable.

In my expiereince it was the exact opposite. Huge difference on the road, but no difference off road, YMMV. Every time I hit a 30 degree off camber spot on a trail I'm glad I still have my front sway bar on.

After reading a lot of reviews about people removing them I'm starting to think that it isn't too noticeable on pickups, but it is on top heavy 4runners.
