Finally got around to tearing apart my old engine 22re and here is why I found lol

Just think if that was a engine you just had a few runs on that you just paid $10,000.00 to have the bottom end done.

It is mechanical things wear and break .

Hole in the block what did you think you might find??

looks like mine after 338k miles. Only mine chucked #4.
This is why I now resize the big end on a rebuild with ARP bolts. The rod bolts definitely have a fatigue life and its foolish to reuse them.

Wyoming I had already known what I was gonna see. Still cool to tear into it and see all the carnage.. And yes mechanical parts do wear and break. But it shouldn't have happened at 154k original miles. Engine gave no warning. No knocks, no over heating, and truck was not abused. Just randomly happened at 65mph on the highway one day.

Was my fathers truck, he bought it brand new. He had plans for it but after it sat in his shop and didn't move for 15 years he gave it to me.
