runner vs pickup. The locker unlocks!!!

I took the runner for a cruise today to get parts and noticed that the Aussie unlocks a lot easier in the runner than it ever did in the truck. In the truck I had several times where it would lurch around a corner even with the tranny out of gear, with the runner all I have to do is push the clutch in and it unlocks when turning (and the clutch in the runner is in worse shape than the one in the truck). I'm thinking the little bit of extra weight in the runner (top and all my gear) may be the reason. Heck I can't even tell it's there at all.

Idk man...

My buddy has a aussie in his pickup and from what i can tell its smoother than what im driving... He doesn't drive it as aggressively as i do in mine though.

Either way i like the lockright in my 4runner and its better than open!

Do you by chance have the installation measurement from when you installed the locker into the truck and the 4Runner? I am trying to figure what the ideal measurements are for smoothness.

Do you mean the tolerances? (spelling?)

If so I didn't change a thing. This is the rear third that came out of the truck and I just swapped it in.

I see. Very interesting. I thought it might have some thing to do with tolerances or maybe even wheel-hop or other leaf-spring issues, but it looks like we can rule both of those out.
