4runner 4WD light
so i have recently aquired a 1993 4runner 3.0 4x4 and the 4WD light does not work at all, not even a flicker. i do know the 4WD does work because all tires were spinning while driving in a recent snow storm. but is there a fuse to the light is it possibly that a bulb went bad and what else could cause the light to fail?

There's a connection on the front of the diff on my '90 Runner. When I first bought it, the light didn't work but 4wd did. Mine was simply not connected, but it could always be the wiring leading to it for you. Hopefully your Runner will have the same connection and it'll be that easy.

so would it be just kind of electrical connection on the near where the driveshaft connects to the front diff and is it some kind of plug?

yes... take the skid plate off and look around the front diff... its just a lil electrical connector.... Also... It could be the bulb in the dash... Not a big deal if it is... If u can install a radio in one of these, taking the guage cluster out is fairly easy....

It's not near the driveshaft connection, it's behind the skidplate(if yours still has one) on the front of the front diff. Also could be the light, and Team420 is right, the instrument cluster is pretty easy to get out and back in. I've done it and I'm horrible at wiring/electrical.
