Plenty have! Throw some 33 x 10.50's on there with a rear locker and good sliders/body protection (some 4.7's in the t case if you don't wanna burn up your clutch) and your good to go. I've even seen a vid where a stock 4runner with 31's and only a rear locker have made it. Just dont expect to not get body damage.

Go to youtube and you will find every type of vehicle that's made it. As of late, I've seen footage of a stock FJ.

Why not? It would make it more challenging than a fully "built" rig! Just make sure you've had experience wheeling and know your vehicles limits! I plan on running the trail in a year or two after I get t case gears and 33's.

All the really gnarly stuff has bypasses. If you cant make it you go around. Charge it! You cant beat the scenery. Definitely Gods country.

it can almost be guarenteed that you will break a cv or two. ive seen a few with ifs make it through, but its not easy, you will get body damage and you will most likely break stuff, also if you do go on the rubicon with your rig as it is, go on a slow weekend so you dont back up the trail for other people.

Just remove the rocks after you make it through the obstical.

Get a rear locker, armor ( bumper(s), sliders, skids) and bring some spare parts (cv joint(s), Tie rod assemblyes even an idler arm..

Have fun!

I've made it over in a sandrail, many years ago, but it's totally doable. Had to winch a few times. You will have a bit more work in front of you. My suggestion though, take some of the alternate routes. Not everything needs a rock buggy.

Personally, before I'd do much serious rock crawling, I'd get a belly skid that covered the oil pan and transmission.
