My 89 22r pickup has a slight bit of a rough idle. Ran much more smoothly recently. Has had a complete tune up including fuel filter just a few days ago. Compression is great.

We suspect maybe a vacumn leak. I notice that the piece that is shown in the dead center of this picture is loose. (The protruding metal peice connected below the carb with several hoses attached.) Should it be loose and easily rotate or should it be tight and secure? Could this have something to do with my vacumn leak or rough idle problem?

Yeah it's a 22r. The base model 2wd from 89 were still 22r.
