roof rack

Where can I get a roof rack/basket to fit the roof of a 93 regular cab pickup?

What about taking one of those hitch mounted cargo carriers and turning it into a roof rack. The one I have is pretty much the same size as my regular cab roof. All you would need to do is cut off the hitch mount and find a way to mount it to the roof. Plus a lot of them are under $100.

If you can't find a nice used one, Harbor Freight has one for only $70 (says it can hold 500lbs), and another for $100 (once again 500lbs).

I have the second one and it has taken quite a lot of abuse from hunting trips and road trips and is still going strong.

I built one for my F150 that would hold 4 people if I laid a sheet of 3/4" plywood down on the floor. I drilled directly through the top of the cab used 2" washer on top and 3" washer inside the truck, the way I mounted it was I found a nut that would fit inside the tube that the legs are made of and welded them to the 2" fender washer then slid the nut up in the tube and welded the washer to the tube then bolted it through the top of the cab. I also made one to go on top of my camper shell. that mounted the same way. Good luck.

Many people drill into the cab and seal the holes, there are a few mounts that can attach to the sill where the door closes at the top. There are mounts that clamp down using strap that run through the cab. If I mounted one I would prefer to permanently install a rail system on the top of the cab.
