Rod knock?

Hello again. I've been on yotatech before but it's been awhile. I've been doing heavy research but I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.

I have a 1st gen runner and just finished swapping my 3.0 auto for a 22re 5 speed. It was a ton of work but well worth it. I bent a rod for the second time in my 3.0 and I've grown tired of tinkering on something that seems to keep throwing problems at me.

Anyway the 22re seems to run really well and has no problem tugging me around(minus a little overheating. I think my electric fan isn't doing a very good job.) but it has a nasty knock when the load is removed, when I shift, when I rev it, or when I reach about 3000 rpm under load. It never knocks at idle. It'll knock when it's cold for less than one second. So I'm pretty sure it's a rod knock but what stumps me is that my oil pressure is really good. It sits right where it should be all the time.

I will pull the pan when I have some time. I am not driving it at the moment. My question is it possible that I can just replace the bearings without pulling the crank and having it turned? I'm curious because the oil pressure is still high so maybe there is only minimal wear?

three rod bearing failures in three engines seems a bit unlikely to me.

how did you determine that it's a rod knock? broomstick(aka stethoscope) against the block?

sometimes the valve cover on the 22re is on too tight, and it makes noise... have you adjusted the valves yet?
