Ring and pinion

I need to regear my front diff - will a 4.3 ring and pinion from any 7.5" diff work as long as it's not reverse cut? No yards in town have 4runner/truck gears, but one has 4.3 gears from the back of an old Supra - will they work?

So I've been told. I've never tried it, but I used to have some 7.5" 3.58s out of a 92 2WD PU laying around. And they looked exactly the same as the 4WD 7.5" 4.10 ring and pinion I compared them to side by side. Anyhow, I'm pretty sure it's been done without complications...or we'd have heard something by now...that's how I know that all 7.5" carriers aren't compatible BTW...been tried already...with limited success...

They should. I believe the 4runner also came in a 4.30 on a auto tranny and the 28 inch tire option.

Yeah, mine is the the auto with 4.3 gears. I replaced the front diff, and the gears are wrong.

Thanks guys!

Your front diff has 7.5" low pinion 4.3 gears....I just found out and edited this... some of the 1985 Supras/Celica's do have the 7.5" ring gear (I have one on the work bench right now5-9-12).

ps----If you need it, I have a low pinion 7.5" 4.3 ring and pinion for 75...shipped to slc.
