Is this the right seal? Rear axle.

I picked up a rear outer axle seal from napa. It looks like this which is a little different than I've seen online. 10 bucks

looks like the drum brake seal if ur looking for the seal that goes inside the axle housing that is the wrong one

˟˟˟˟. So this isn't the one that keeps oil from going all over my tire? Is that one called the inner seal?

no cuz I made the same mistake when I bought my seals I forget wat its call but its the axle housing seal the ones u need look like this http://www.marlincrawler.com/images/rearseal_500.jpg

damn alright ill head back there and see what else they got. thats the one that goes on the outermost portion of the rear axle housing correct?

correct once u pull the axle shaft out of the housing the seal will be right on the out side of the housing

i wish we had a toyota dealer around here. i gave napa the part number and it finally came up. it should be here in 2 days. where the hell does the seal i returned go then?

I have know idea where the seal that u got goes I got the same seals in my tool box.. I thing there suppose to be a seal that goes in between the brake drum and axle housing

im not sure.. im sure someone will chime in about where it goes

There is another seal that is just an Oring, About 3-4" dia 1/8 thick, This goes between the axel housing and the brake backplate.

How hard was the axel to get out of the rear end mine is leaking and I'm stuck

Four nuts and remove the brake line from the wheel cylinder and it slides right out.

Very easy.

Edit: Undo the e-brake cable also..
