Replacement dome light switch?

Hi there!
I've owned a 1986 Pickup for a couple years now but I'm new to the forum. Anyone know where I might find another dome light switch? Mine appears to be worn out. It used to work here and there but has stopped all together now. I haven't found anything on eBay.

eBay, junk yard, online vendor for used toyota parts, etc etc.

I've seen them on ebay time to time - it's kinda like Google, you gotta get clever with search words

When my dome light stopped working, I scraped a little of the corrosion off of the contacts using a small emery board. It was free, took a few seconds, and super easy. A small strip of fine sandpaper might work if you can work it in there and get a little pressure on it.
Try this before trying to replace.

Red face

Then if the contacts are worn you may need to build them up with solder then they will be good for another 20 years.

Are you sure your still getting voltage to the switch??

The light has not failed ??

Thanks for the replies and ideas. I just took the whole thing apart and noticed that at some point the light's been left on, causing the plastic housing to bubble and warp. The warped plastic is causing the switch to lose contact. Looks like the prior owner put his own rivet in there, causing even more problems haha

You can get another dummy plug out of a 4Runner and move the connectors over to it. You can also replace the bulb with an LED and avoid the heat that comes with a standard bulb. Also I glue down my electric leads in the following link>>> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52301576

I found a less than $5 replacement assembly that uses screws instead of rivets for the contacts. Far superior than OEM! The rivets and contacts showed lots of no-continuities when I checked them with my multimeter.

Hmmm maybe that's what's wrong with mine. I honestly never even tested it with a multimeter, lol. It's been like 5 years, lol
