Removing ADD

I just bought 4.88s differentials which came equiped with ADD. At first I was going to just disable the front ADD, but after doing a quick search on here I learned that I could just swap the tube on the front differential (the least moving parts the better). I pulled the 4.10 diff out of my 4runner and pulled the tubes of of each, here's what I found

here's the 4.88 diff that came with ADD

here's my non-ADD 4.10 diff

It looks like the non-ADD diff is missing an oil seal. Has anyone done this swap before? Is it just an oil seal? I couldn't seem to get it out. If so, anyone have the part number? Thanks

Sounds like a good idea that you're doing. I think that will make the best diff.

Here's for an 86 look at part 41304P

Here's the diagram for the ADD one

How was the rest of your trip?

I'm going to try to do the aussie install tomorrow in the front diff I have.

Thanks Chris. Yeah I figured if I that since I'm probably going to sell my 4.10 diff that I should use the tube off of that one and just sell my 4.10 diff with the ADD tube.

As for the thread, nevermind I was able to remove the oil seal with a hammer and a flathead screwdriver. I did manage the damage the seal in the process though Oh well, I'll just go to the Toyota dealership in the morning and get a new one.

Oh the the rest of the trip was good. Let's see
-From your place we checked out Morro Bay, which was pretty creepy because of the dense fog
-Then we drove up to San Luis Obispo and ate at Firestone Grille, which was amazing.
-then off to bakersfield to crash at a friend's house
-sunday we drove up to Lake Isabella and went hiking
-finally I did the LONG drive home

Sounds like a good trip! Firestone is awesome, one of my favorite places.

Did you get a locker for the rear third?

It was great to get to meet you, hopefully we'll get a Big Bear trip going soon.

Quick question for you and slightly off topic. On your non ADD diff, do you know if it's possible to remove the stub shaft without removing the entire axle tube?
