Rear Window Switch in Cargo Area Mod
So I feel extremely accomplished. And it's not only because that it was my first mod, but because of the way I did it compared to others. Every other thread that I have seen about this, everyone takes the wires for their new switch from the tailgate. I tried to find them, and it was just impossible. What I did was I took the wires straight from the harness. I removed the jack stand holder fromt he driver side storage area to get to the wire harness. (The harness slits into three: wiper motor, tail light, tailgate. Each have a removable connector. Unplugging it gives you more work room.) I peeled away the protective wrap to the tailgate and found the hot, up, and down wires to the motor. Then, I just tapped some wire into those, and spliced the other ends to the hot, up, and down wires on my OEM window switch. You will have to find diagrams though to find how the wires match because the colors are different. I was too excited to complete this, so I didnt take photos. I will more than happily take some if you would like.
