Rear Bearing removal trouble
So i tried to removed the rear right bearing on my 94 4runner and was doing the "Shade tree mechanic" method and its not moving a bit. The bearing was completely destroyed almost before i started slamming it already(ball bearings where falling out when i removed it).
Is there any tips to getting it out, bearings are all out pretty much out all out. ive tried putting them back in then shade treeing it again but they fall out and im not having any progress getting it to back off. (ive removed the snap ring). Toyota dealer able to press in and out if i take it to them? Any tips be helpful thanks

when you try the "shade tree mechanic" method, try and get as much weight on the backing plate as possible, keep the drum brake pads attached and hold a hammer or two on top, mine was stuck well and truley, but it eventually broke free woth alot of banging and smashing
one problem with the grinding is that you can catch the axle and this can casue weekening, and make its more likely to break in the future (so ive been told)
and a good way to get the new bearing and coller on is to use the old bearing and coller and hit them with a large hammer, this stops damage to all the new shiney parts

Can you grind the retainer with a dremel cut disc for more precision? If doing the slam method your chances of success are much better getting the retainer off first.

i did it by leaving only the brake assembly on and dropping it from about 8ft (from the top of the backing plate) took about 45mins 15mins dropping I put a 1/2 piece of plywood under it
